179 Marlborough Road Entry Door
We were tasked with replacing the existing door at 179 Marlborough Road in the stately Ditmas Park neighborhood of Brooklyn. As with most of our projects, we started researching archival photography to reference the original entry door on this historic home. We then executed and installed a beautiful new entry door made from quarter-sawn oak, and fitted with the highest quality hardware, for the ultimate in security and weather-resistance.

This archival photo shows the house as it appeared circa the 1970s.

The existing door, which we were tasked with replacing featured an impressive knocker, which was preserved and used on the new door.

Achieving the symmetrical grain pattern requires precise sawing of the lumber at a perpendicular angle to the annular rings.
